The quality of these beeswax candles is unlike anything we’ve been able to find. We’ve found the most incredible beeswax, which we single filter so that it can maintain it’s strong, natural fragrance.
Please note, wax color and fragrance notes may vary depending on the time of year and flowers in season.
SINGLE-FILTERED NORTHERN MICHIGAN BEESWAX
-
Beeswax is simply that— nothing else is added. The material itself is so incredibly useful and the natural scent so pleasing, that for there’s little temptation to add modifiers or scents.
-
Beeswax is its region and season. The color and fragrance of the beeswax itself will vary greatly depending on what flowers the bees are pollinating. We work with a farm who’s bees consistently produce our all-time favorite wax, and we have the privilege of supporting these farmers who care for these bees.
-
Beeswax comes from nature, and the best wax comes from the healthiest bees. So supporting our favorite bee farmers directly supports the bees that are happily pollinating the orchards, queen’s laced fields, and flowering gardens of Leelanau and Benzie county.

Beeswax candles are understood to clean the air of spaces where they are kept and burned. They burn at the same light spectrum of sunlight. Additionally, beeswax has been understood to release N-ions, which are known to be present around thunderstorms and crashing ocean waves and studies suggest may support mental and cognitive well being (focus, clarity, calm, optimism).
Natural beeswax is safe for any use and consumption, from lip balms and health use to food use and cutting board conditioning. We love beeswax around here.
THE BENEFIT OF BEESWAX
We’ve heard it asked, is it waves? dunes? Cream? Look closely. You may recognize it’s actually wood grain.
The intersection of geometry and nature has always been interesting to me. A cylinder is a candle’s most efficient shape, but it’s top’s only purpose is to be pleasing to the eye. I’ve pressed many textures for our candles but this one has become my favorite.
For me, summers were spent splitting firewood to heat the home through the winter. So this texture is nostalgic, but also feels very at-home beneath a flame.
THE WOOD-PRESSED TOP
I’m an asthmatic candlemaker. I might be a slow runner but I am quick to be bothered by chemicals in scents and products that most people don’t seem to notice. It’s why I started making my own candles, and why we get so excited about sharing them with others.
No phthalates. No parabens. No lead. No VOCs. No adhesives or those polypropylene stickers.
Our pure beeswax and soy wax is local and organic. Our fragrance oils are clean, certified, and must pass the asthma test. Our stone container’s color is natural, derived from soil pigments, and made candle safe with an earth safe seal.
